The ever-consistent Mark Abbott
Actions speak louder than words, and standards speak louder than actions. That’s why our “Mr Consistent” provides such a vital service in his Sales & Dealer Support role. If Mark says he’ll do it, he does it. And if he’s not sure he can deliver on a promise, he won’t make it in the first place.

Coming up on a decade of delivering that kind of reliability for Earthworm, Mark is worth his weight in gold to our customers. He knows the range inside and out, and they know they can count on him. We sat down for a quick chat…
How long have you been at Earthworm?
I’ve been with the company since 2017. I started out in parts and stock control, which gave me a good grounding in the range. My interest in the attachments grew from there, and four years ago it led me into sales and support.
What does a typical day look like in your job?
A typical day is a mix of phone and email enquiries, along with time on the road visiting our customers whenever I can. It’s important to stay up to speed with what they’ve got going on.
What skills are important in your role?
It’s about creating a good experience for customers and finding the right solution for their needs. Knowing the range well means the customer ends up with exactly the product they’re expecting – the attachment works exactly as it should and delivers the best ongoing returns to their operation.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Auckland and moved to Waikuku Beach in Canterbury over twenty years ago. I’ve lived there ever since, and I still haven’t found anywhere else I’d rather call home.
What are you known for at work?
I’d like to think I’m known for my sense of humour.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Away from work, I’m into nice cars, camping and travelling whenever I can.
Do you have a favourite place to holiday?
At the moment it’s Kaikōura. It’s not far from home, and the landscape and views are unreal.
What are you looking forward to?
Summer. I’m looking forward to the longer days and getting out and about for more exercise.
